Behavioral Mapping as a spatial analysis design assist tool
In this study, the framework for a design assisting tool based on spatial analysis is presented. The concept of behavior setting is introduced to define and characterize metrics to assess the fitness of standard patterns of behavior in building layouts. The objective of the proposed framework is to achieve a qualitative assessment of the behavior settings from a set of quantitative spatial analyses. From the perspective of ecological psychology, we attempt to evaluate to what extent the pieces of the physical milieu fit the standing pattern of behavior.
